PROFILE:

Woods Structural Engineering llc is a people powered SE company offering consulting services for architects, engineers, builders and owners, on commercial, civic and residential projects, large and small.  We excel at being nimble and responsive, blending with design and building teams of all types.  In addition to offering lead structural design, we are also known for thoughtful collaborations with other engineers and for providing constructive review and feedback services.

Louis “Rocky” Woods is our Principal Engineer.  Our roots are in the GW STUDIO (gabbartandwoods.studio), which Rocky co-founded in 1995.  A significant portion of our work is in the heavy snow, high seismic areas of Lake Tahoe, Truckee and the Eastern Sierra.  Rocky has led close to one thousand successful engineering projects in the region and collaborated on hundreds more. 

In 2025, we also began working extensively with the CANYON STUDIO (canyongroup.studio).
