PROFILE:

Woods Structural Engineering llc is a people powered SE company offering consulting services for architects, engineers, builders and owners, on commercial, civic and residential projects, large and small.  We excel at being nimble and responsive, blending with design and building teams of all types; in addition to our own projects we lead, we are known for thoughtful collaborations including constructive review, supportive feedback and construction administration assistance.

Louis “Rocky” Woods is the company’s Principal Engineer and our home base is the GW STUDIO (gabbartandwoods.studio), which Rocky co-founded with Vance Gabbart in 1995.  One area of company expertise is in addressing  projects within the heavy snow, high seismic areas of Lake Tahoe, Truckee and the Eastern Sierra.  Rocky has led close to one thousand successful engineering projects in the region and collaborated on hundreds more. 

In 2025, we began also working closely with the group in CANYON STUDIO (canyongroup.studio).
